INSURANCE
Our insurance covers:

• Full repairs to rental vehicle (excluding excess)
• Third Party Liability unlimited (including passengers in hired vehicle)
• Theft of vehicle and accessories (excluding excess)

The excess/liability is £500 for all vehicles as below. This is not paid in advance; it is only taken in the event of an accident or damage during the period of hire. You may, if you wish, waiver this excess, at the branch, at a cost of £10 per day or £50 per week when you collect the vehicle.

Our vehicles are not insured for use in N Ireland, Eire and mainland Europe. Insurance is valid for all of Scotland including all the islands as well as England and Wales.

Insurance Requirements

• All drivers must hold and produce a full category British Driving Licence for the type of vehicle hired and proof of their address. If a new style British driving licence is held, both parts must be shown.
• Overseas visitors must produce a valid Domestic Licence and/or International Driving Permit and valid passport.
• UK visitors must produce proof of address, e.g. utility account or bank statement.
• Licence/Permit must be valid for the current period of the rental and have been held for a minimum of 12 months.
• A licence may have a restriction to the number of seats on a vehicle, which the licence holder is entitled to drive. For most European countries this is 8 plus driver.
• Any penalty points should be notified.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
Up to 2 additional drivers may be added for a one-off charge of £10 per driver provided they meet all the insurance requirements and have a valid driving licence. All drivers must be present at time of hire, although additional drivers can register later personally at any branch.

DELAYED FLIGHTS
Under certain circumstances given sufficient warning (at least 4 weeks) we can arrange an out of hours pick-up at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Prestwick and Inverness. However, there will be an out of hours pick-up fee of £35 and we need a driver proposal form with full details which will be sent out on confirmation.

ONE WAY HIRES
Vehicles can be picked up in any one town/city or airport and dropped off in another location (not in the same town/city) the one way fee is £15 for Groups 1 - 6 and £25 for Group 7 and above.

CHILD SEATS
New UK legislation, introduced in September 2006, requires that all children under 135 cm must use a suitable baby, child or booster seat. It is the driver's legal responsibility to ensure that the child is correctly restrained. We will provide suitable baby, child and booster seats at a cost of one pound per seat per day.

GPS
GPS is available for hire from the Arnold Clark Branches when you collect the vehicle. The cost of this is £5 per day or £25 per week.

DRIVING LICENCES
Drivers must be aged 21 years or over (Standard upwards & minibus - 25 years or over) and possess a full category British driving licence for the type of vehicle rented. If a new style British driving licence is held, both parts must be shown Overseas visitors must produce a valid domestic driving licence or an international driving permit accompanied by a passport. Drivers are required to have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months and have a clean insurance record although endorsed licences may be accepted. Minibus drivers must be experienced in driving this type of vehicle and have the necessary licence entitlement. An administrative charge will be made for any additional drivers. No person other than the renter or approved additional driver/drivers are permitted to drive the vehicle rented. Seatbelts must be worn at all times as required by law.

FUEL POLICY
It is not our policy to provide full fuel tanks. Customers will be advised of the fuel level when they collect the vehicle and should return it at the same level. If the fuel, level is more than that at the time of pick up, the customer will be reimbursed, or alternatively, if the fuel is short, then the customer will be charged at current pump prices. Please note however, there is NO refuelling charge.

CANCELLATIONS
If cancellation is necessary and up to 24 hours notice given, no charge. If less than 24 hours notice the hirer may be liable to 1 day's car rental charge.

PARKING TICKETS, SPEEDING FINES
Parking tickets and speeding fines are the liability of the hirer. When the Rental Agreement is signed on pick up, the customer does accept liability. The appropriate amount will be deducted from the credit card of the hirer.

Location Details

AIRPORT BRANCH INFORMATION
All our airport branches operate a courtesy transfer service to and from the branches, which are only 10-15 minutes away. On arrival, customers proceed to baggage collection, collect luggage and use the courtesy phones to inform the branch of their arrival. The courtesy bus will be waiting for you, the phone call is to inform us of your arrival and so that we can tell you which bus stance to go to, they are routinely changed by the airport.
Vehicles are returned to the branch and a courtesy transfer back to the airport is provided. An out of hours arrangement can apply, please see under this heading. Opening hours and special information is indicated for each airport branch.

OUT OF HOURS DROP OFF
Out of hours drop off is available for airport branches only, subject to our quotation. There is a charge of £30 for an out of hours airport drop off.

TOWN/CITY PICK UP OR DROP OFF
The opening hours vary and will be indicated on quotation. We have a large network of branches throughout Scotland: Aberdeen, Ayr, Bishopbriggs, Cumbernauld, Dumbarton, Dumfries, Dundee, East Kilbride, Edinburgh (2), Elgin, Falkirk, Glasgow (4), Greenock, Inverness, Kilmarnock, Kircaldy, Livingstone, Motherwell, Paisley, Peterhead, Perth, Rosyth (for ferry from Zeebrugge), Stirling.

BANK HOLIDAYS AND SUNDAYS
We are open for delivery and collection throughout the year, apart from Dec 25th and 26th Dec, 1st Jan and 2nd Jan. However, our airport branches ARE open on 26th Dec and 2nd Jan, but with reduced hours. We close at 17.00 on 24th Dec and 31st Dec. A few town/city branches are not open on Sundays throughout the year, this will be indicated on quotation.

RAILWAY STATION PICK UP
Railway station pick up can be arranged at the following branches:

• Inverness
• Aberdeen
• Dundee
• Perth
• Dumfries
• Stirling

In all cases you telephone the branch on arrival and they come out to pick you up to be taken to the branch approximately 10 minutes away to complete the paperwork. On return, a courtesy transfer back to the station is provided.
